Spay Day – 43 Spays
It’s another beautiful day to do spays!!! 43 more animals were spayed today in Mae Tang (26 dogs and 17 cats!!)
We focused our efforts on trapping as many feral dogs as possible at the irrigation center nearby and bringing them in for spay. It was a success!
We also caught two new TVT cancer dogs who will be started on chemotherapy as soon as they have healed from their spay surgery and we have checked their bloodwork ♥️
So many of the dogs had such bad tick infestation (one dog had thousands of lice!!!) and so I have packed extra boxes of meds to treat them when I go check on them in a few days 🥰 (plus deworming).
For many dogs, these events are the only time they will ever see a doctor in their entire lives: so we try and be as thorough as possible- treating for blood parasites, wounds, TVT cancer, worms, or flea/tick infestation and talk to owners about where to access follow up care.
A massive thank you to Lets Save the Strays International for sponsoring the costs of all the surgeries and vaccinations today!
