It’s been a month since treatment was started and all her scabs are healing well and her new fur is growing back ♥️ 4-6 more weeks to go before we see full recovery.

16 of those we went to pick up directly because the owners did not have transportation or crates ♥️ 7 dogs had life threatening pyometra (infection to the uterus due to birth control injections) and required additional medications, 3 needed Bravecto for fleas and ticks, one needed a full course of doxycycline to treat blood parasites, and we assessed a dog who was hit by a car to check for broken bones (thankfully no break or else we were ready to transfer to the hospital)!

She was spotted by someone and reported to us a few days ago, and I got to go and give her medications for the mange and gave deworming for internal parasites. As is expected during rainy season, she is covered in ticks as well.

With one Bravecto tablet for the mange, this is the expected timeline:

🐕 In one day, all the ticks will die and fall off.
🐕 In 5-7 days, the scabs and open wounds will heal and close up
🐕 in about two months, almost all of her fur will have grown back. After three months, we will re-assess and possibly give one other dose if some hair loss is still present.

Did some laundry. Took calls about a new group of feral dogs who needs to be helped with flea meds and spays. Organized food delivery for the month. Organized afternoon appointments. Packed all supplies needed for the day including 40 vaccinations. Out the door.

Headed to vaccinate 21 dogs 25 minutes away. Passed by the sore puppy with mange walking on the side of the road. Stopped to help. Usually I would just give medicine and come back to check on progress but his lymph nodes were swollen and he had a fever so I put him in a crate and after giving Bravecto and vaccinations to the other dogs, the puppy and I rushed to the clinic to get him checked out and hospitalized.

Whilst at the clinic, I checked on Tiger, Nestle, Bella, and Rhino at the same time too (Boonrod is at another clinic but messaged the vet throughout the day to check on how he was doing).
🐾 Organized with the doctor to go with her to the temple on Wednesday to check on some of our dogs there.

Went back home to check on Dasu. I started him on liver and kidney support as we await bloodwork results. Ate a lunch packed for me by Laurajean Rae whilst grabbing more supplies.

🐕 Out the door to go to the pet store to buy 100kg of puppy and dog food for the group of dogs who are anemic and struggling to get enough nutrition. Then off to the store to get 20 bowls and puppy deworming.

🏍️ Drove 50 minutes to get to the dogs and meet a few people directly there- we got some puppy cuddles, feeding time, puppy vaccinations, puppy deworming, checking on all spay wounds (all looked great!), phone calls with translator to organize next steps for the dogs (need to spay one momma dog once she stops breastfeeding) and asked the man who is so kind to them what he needs most if we can help him in some way down the line.

Then rushed out 45 minutes north to vaccinate 9 other dogs I recently found out about. Checked to make sure owner is giving blood parasite medications I provided recently – she is 💕 pulled blood on 2 skinny dogs to check if it’s anything other than blood parasites and if either dog needs more support

I didn’t have time to go and assess personally, so I paid for a cat to be taken to the clinic and get treated- the cat has been coughing and vomiting. Hoping he pulls through.

Drove into town and took one hour break from doggy rescues from 7-8pm.

Headed back home, 40 minutes away. Stopped off and got some groceries. Ate dinner on the steps outside the store because eating dinner at home amongst a huge pack of dogs is such chaos. Answered messages whilst eating. Over 50 received today.

🏠 Headed home. 36 dogs wanted attention. Noticed someone donated a table and someone else donated a cage. Smiled. Made hot chocolate. Replied to a few more messages. Did laundry. Checked on Dasu. Checked on Brazil. Checked on Susu.

Checked on the three paralyzed girls. Took a few minutes to watch them play. Replied to more messages. Organized appointments for tomorrow. Remembered I have to go to immigration and wondered how I’m going to fit it in. Gave medications to the dogs who need them. Called the dogs up to bed. Set the alarm. Wrote this post. Got to sleep 😴

Today was not a particularly busier day than any other day. We’ll do it all over tomorrow and we’ll do it with love because the animals need us 💕

From misery to miracles!! I had to check through photos to make sure it was the same dog when I came by today to follow up 🥰

🐾 After suffering for way too long, this dog’s quality of life just improved significantly!! ♥️ This is yet another fantastic street dog transformation thanks to your donations!

The first two photos are when I gave him treatment. The last two photos (and the video in the comments) were taken today- four months apart!

5 weeks apart! Totally different skin condition and fur. This dog’s life just got a whole lot better! It will take another month or so for the fur to fully grow back but the ticks and fleas died off in the first 24 hours and the sores healed up after 10 days 💕

We treat 1000 street and temple dogs with Bravecto each year- this is one of them 🥰

We are just about to put in an order for more! Last year, we spent $3000 USD to treat mange and flea/tick infestations on all those dogs ♥️

We also went back to the new temple under our care with 30 dogs and cut spay stitches, dewormed, and vaccinated as many as possible there too! The thirteen teeny babies are thriving and the two momma dogs are deliriously happy to see us each time 🥰

One of the older puppies was lethargic and refusing to eat so we started treatment at the temple right away and then took her to the clinic for both Parvo testing and bloodwork (thankfully negative for Parvo, now back at my home for observation and care) ♥️

Vaccinating, deworming, and treating all of these dogs for fleas and ticks costs us just about 17,000 baht ($500 USD). Without doing this, the dogs would almost surely be doomed to get blood parasites from ticks, they would be susceptible to dying from Parvo or Distemper, and they would be severely malnourished from the intestinal worms stealing the nutrients from their food.

In one day, we alter those circumstances for the better!
